photo printer

I am using a P1000 Hp photo smart printer and when I scan a picture in and print it ,it has a bluish tint to it when the origional picture has a tanish color to it . What I want to do is duplicate the original one . Help !!!!!

Have you changed ink carts, I had that prob with an HP printer, turned out to be the ink cart. also Epson when I tried an off brand ink cart. is the color ok when you print from a downloaded file, if so it could be the scanner. You might try cleaning the heads in the utility program.

The photo paper can change the tone, as well. Do a comparison after you check the printer heads, etc that others recommended. I have an Epson 820, and need to clean the heads about once a week. If one color is slightly clogged, it can change the whole tone.
If anyone is looking for an excellent photo paper, this is one I've been using for almost two years now. I used to pay $35.00 for 100 sheets. Now, Cosco has it for 19.00! Excellent paper and is completely dry when it comes off the printer!

What you see on the monitor will rarely be the same as you see on what you print out. Too many variables - monitor, monitor settings, software, paper, etc. You should calibrate your monitor first. This page might help. http://epaperpress.com/monitorcal/

Ther should be a utility program that came with your printer that will calibrate the printer to what you see on the monitor.

I had to tweak the monitor gamma and the printer perimenters till I got a good output.

Also I have found out that the monitor must be at full britness and contrast for the calibration process. If not, the printed output will allways be much brither that what you see on the screen.

You can work with photos at a lower screen level but to see what it will really look like when it's printed,you have to max out the screen.
