Today I've received no less than four copies of the following message:

I forwarded the note to spoof@paypal.com (their scam reporting ID) and they confirmed the note as being bogus. It sure is slick.

Did they actually display your PayPal user name or other PayPal ID? If so, then this is a serious scam indeed.

I got an email some months ago addressed to "Dear PayPal User"; which made me immediately suspicious, since I don't have a PayPal account.

PayPal says any legitimate email from them will address you by your registered user name.

If you have a PayPal account, and your registered user name was used in the suspect email, I would be deeply worried.

Best wishes
