Clicking noise in Internet Explorer

Post by Jeff Strouse »

How do I turn off that clicking noise each time I manuever from page to page, or click on a hyperlink? I looked under 'Sounds' in the Control Panel, and checked under 'Tools'--'Internet Options', in the Internet Explorer window, but can't seem to find a way to turn it off that annyoing clicking. I have Windows XP Professional.

Thanks for any help!

I use a Microsoft Intellimouse and Norton Systemworks Pro. On my Windows 2000 system, the mouse click sound shows up under Control Panel-Sounds and Multimedia Properties-Sounds as "Symantec Integrater: Mouse Click". I suspect on your system it would just be "Mouse Click", but you should be able to find it in that section, as that's where all the system sounds are defined.

Maybe this is it, maybe not---in XP Home

Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>

Pull down menu under "sound scheme" and select "no sounds"
