The way these thing works is that if one computer with your address in the address book gets infected, the virus can pick up you name (along with all the rest in there) and use it as a 'sender' address for new virus infected mails. Nasty stuff, and there's no way you can control it yourself, only protect your own computer the best you can.

One hint from me:

NEVER open e-mail attachments unless you know from the sender that it is coming and you are expecting it (usually photos or soundfiles). If somebody wants to send me a program file, I usually ask him to put it on a disc or CD and send it that way. That doesn't work in all cases, but it's still better than having PC problems forever!

The only attachments I usually open are jpg. files (photos). Any attachments that have exe. codes or something similar are programs (or viruses).

Regards, Walter

First time this happened to me I freaked out and deleted my address book! Don't open unknown attachments is good advice.

Adding to what Walter said, I have seen some attachments which are named 'something.JPG.exe'
They scan as a virus......sneaky.
