Lost volume icon from task bar?

My volume control has vanished. The one on my Media player doesn't work.I can go to the Acessories folder & click on Entertainment and use the volume control there but I miss the one in the task bar.

Hey buddy, just cruise to the "CONTROL PANEL" via the START MENU and then SETTINGS and then CONTROL PANEL. Once in there, click on "SOUNDS AND MULTIMEDIA" and then put the check mark back in the box labeled "SHOW VOLUME CONTROL ON THE TASK BAR".

Mark, thanks for the info. and for explaining it in simple terms. Windows help had me trying to reinstall it from the "Windows CD"
