DLL file question

Post by Ken Williams »

I got a new printer the other day. After I installed the print software I noticed that it would not print. I realized that I had not uninstalled the old printer. I'm running XP home edition. Anyway, after I uninstalled the old printer I get a error message everytime I log in. It's a small box that says...CAN'T LOAD LXSUPMON.DLL.
The only option is to click ok. The printer works fine but I noticed a day or two later that my CD player is not working. The messages I get indicate that there is no CD in the drive, but there is. The CD burner drive seems to work as it should. Would the DLL file I mentioned earlier have anything to do with the CD drive or is that associated with printer, or something else. Do I need to see if I can locate the CD drivers, if there is such a thing, that came with the computer and reinstall them. The computer is not that old, maybe a year. Any help would be much appreciated.
The old printer and the new one are Lexmark. Would that be the LX part of the DLL?
