BIAB Count-In

Post by Tom Mortensen »

I'm using BIAB 12.
Song is in 3/4 time.
I want the count-in to be 1231-- so that beats 2 and 3 of the second bar are silent.
When I go to preferences this count-in option doesn't seem to be available in 3/4 time.
Any ideas?

I am anxious to see what the experts say, but my solution is to put in a measure or partial measure of rests, placing a . after the chord, ie. C., so you get the count in from BIAB, then silence.

I make a MIDI file of the song and import it in to Cakewalk, then edit out the count in notes I don't want. BIAB is a great program but they need to tweak the count in and endings to be more flexiable with the rest of their program. Maybe when Ver 13 come's out in December. I have been using BIAB since ver 2. It just keeps getting better with each version.

Mute the drums on the 2 & 3 count. Problem solved.

The waltz count in is pretty rigid, you get 123,123. The preferences work good for 4/4 though. But the request for a change on the waltz time is on the Wish List.

Thanks for your replies.
At least I can stop looking for that magic button.
Looks like a couple of good solutions here.
