Recording From Line In?

Post by Roger Shackelton »

I have a new computer running Windows XP and I want to record some songs to my hard drive from a cassete player. How do I do this?
My cassette player is connected to the line
-in and the music plays through my computers speakers.

Roger, I'd suggest you download and install the free Musicmatch software. It will allow you to do exactly what you want... you can choose to have the source be a CD, your line-in input, etc.

Check your sound mixer to be sure the line in is activated. ripvinyl is a cool program for this $7.00 and it seperates tracks for you.....cool and super easy to work.

Your system might have come from software that would work. Mine came with Roxio Easy CD Creator and then I upgraded that to the Platinum version to get the sound cleaning features for improved recording from records and tapes.
