Spoofed mail addresses

Post by Lou[NE] »

Re: Outlook Express

Is there a way to find the true sender's address by looking at the info in the 'details' tab of message properties?

I recently got an email from someone I don't know which contained a virus (WORM_SOBIG.E)
Attachment was intercepted by PC-Cillin so no harm done.

I sent a message to the address in the 'From' box informing him he probably had an infected machine, but it bounced. I used copy and paste to insert the address in the 'To' box, so no typos. Is there a way to tell if this is a true address, or what the true address might be?

Thanks for your help.
