Quarantine ???

Post by Jody Carver »

I received an e mail from an undisclosed source, there was no attachement to open. However this has been placed in my quarantine
file. I called Norton and they couldnt help and said it was no problem, the problem was they charged me $69.00 to tell me "no problem".

I have identified the bug but I am a unable
to remove it,,any suggestions?? keep it simple Im computer illiterate. It is still in my quarantine file.

I am waiting for a reply from Joey The Ace regarding this issue..any other idea's would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I always trust Norton when it wants to quarantine anything. Then I go in once a month or so and delete everything in quarantine. I figure if it was something important, whoever sent it would have contacted me by then.

I sent you my reply. Two words: Delete IT.

There's no problem leaving it in quarenteen either.

$69 seems unfair.

Jody, you in quarantine with that monkey pox again? How many times do you have to be told to leave the prairie dogs alone!

Jody,

Hey buddy! We don't see you down on this part of the forum too much...

Anyway, from what I can gather from this thread, Norton Anti-Virus is configured to scan your emails before it delivers them to your inbox (This is great!) Now, it probably found an email with a virus attached to it. It deleted the "attached" virus and put the message in your "quarantined" folder. You did the right thing by just deleting it. Most people send virus's and they never know it. The virus will "hi-jack" your Outlook or Outlook Express and just send emails that you will never know about.

Good thing you have the Anti-Virus installed!

Thanks,
Mark
