Getting "X"d Out
Lately I've been recieving emails with web
links/attachments and when I go to open them up, I get one of those annoying borderlined
squares filled with nothing but "white" and a small red "x" in the upper left hand corner.
And sometimes the red x is a tricolor icon,
but still within a big-white-nothing-to-view
square.
I've lowered every possible security option I can find, especially DirectX, but all to no avail.
This is on the WindowsME PC. On the other hand, and on the other PC [WIN98], the same websites all are accessed.
Does anyone have a clue here to what is going on. This started about 2-3 weeks ago
and now seems to be happening more and more.
Very annoying.
Thanks all, ahead of schedule.

Chipper,
That is what happens when you have an embedded image link that is directing to the wrong url, it ain't your computer, it is the fact that either the page author has improperly linked to the image, or the image is no longer where the link is directed to:
example -->
OR if you use outlook, check the preferences, you may have the options (under tools/options/security) set to "not allow attachments to be opened....."
