JPG to Video Software

Post by Dan Dowd »

I just purchased a new DVD player that is supposed to play all formats such as MP3 audio and digital video. I used picture album maker that comes with Roxio Platinum 5.0 and put some pictures on a CD along with some audio. The audio MP3 plays but no pictures. Is there a program that will convert JPG's to Compact Disk Digital Video that would allow viewing on my TV.

Dan,

If you have Windows XP, there is a application that is built into the OS called Windows Movie Maker. It will do just what you want it to. You can arrange video or pictures and sync music up to it. Then burn it to a acceptable format for DVD players.

I haven't used Movie Maker yet, but I am almost positive it turns the files into .vcd files. Those files are burnable on your regular CD burner, but will play in a DVD player.

It is not DVD quality, but it is really good.

Dan
You can burn dvd with a regular burner but you have to use dvd software and a blank dvd disc. Do a search and you will find plenty of available software, some are free, some are shareware. Winston May

I took my DVD player back to Sams and got a AKAI Model DVPS7000 and it plays all the formats including JPG. It was only about $10 more. I can play them after putting them on a regular CD and no conversion. But it doesnt play my background music at the same time as the pictures. I will look for the software that you mention and continue with this project until the DVD burners go thru a couple more updates, maybe in the fall this year. Thanks for all the help folks.
