Start Menu
I went into msconfig, & then to start menu.. There are a lot of items with check marks beside them.. My computer has slowed down drastically..53%, can some one tell me which items it would be safe to uncheck, & which ones must remain checked for the computer to operate properly.. Thank You

John, Here is a very trustworthy site that a tech friend gave me. It's a list of things in the start up menu and tells you whether you need then or not. He updates it regularly. It's quite lengthy but well worth the time and effort. I speeded my puter up drastically. Give it a shot. I don't think you'll be dissapointed. You other folks might give it a look-see too !! http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_pages/startup_full.htm#S

John,
Do you know how to do a screen shot? If so, you can get a screen shot of all the items and email it to me. I will gladly take a look at it and tell you all the programs you don't need.

John,
When you are looking at the screen of the msconfig startup tab, hit ALT+PRINT SCREEN and then open a new Word document.
Then hit CTRL+V (which will "paste" the image into the document). Then save the document and email it to me.
Thanks!
