Need Help With Virus Detection & Protection

I Would appreciate any help on the steps to take to detect a virus and possible web sites I might use. My computer is acting strange. It locks up and won't allow me to do anything except restart. It Starded with the power management modes, but I have since stoped using that function. I have ME2000.

Also What antivirus software would be the best to install?

Chuck,

ME2000? Those are 2 different Operating Systems. Is it Windows ME or Windows 2000 Professional?

Try http://www.mcafee.com for their online virus scan.
