Help with newsgroups

Post by erik »

I have posted many times with webtv, but few with a computer. I entered a ficticious address and now can't figure out how to change it. I thought a post would carry my server ID and real email address in the headers but it doesn't(at least not at Deja). Plus the post was sent via a third party (supernews). Basically, i don't get it. How do i change my posting address in Outlook? Thanks.
[This message was edited by erik on 24 October 2002 at 03:49 PM.]

erik,

Not too sure about Outlook, I assume it is Outlook Express? I use Forte Agent to read newsgroups. IMHO, it is the BEST newsgroup reader and also decoder around. I like the alt.binaries.* groups and forte agent works the best with the binary posts. You can d/l a demo at http://www.forteinc.com

In Outlook Express 6 do Tools-Accounts. Select your email account and click the General tab. There you can change your name and email address.

Thank you Jim, never would have thought to click that. Now i can change it. Funny how my ISP sends a post without any ID of origin.
