Canon BJC 4100Printer Problem

Post by Roy Thomson »

All of a sudden this critter decides it is not going to print. The light keeps blinking
and when it gets the print command it beeps 3 times and the "error" box comes up.
There is no paper jam that I can see.
Connections have all been thoroughly checked.

I did Forum search here but I don't see where anyone has had a like problem.
Thanks for any attention and suggestions.

Roy, I've got a Canon 4100 as well. I had an experience like yours and after a bit of trial and error I discovered it was a problem with one particular ink cartridge just going "bad". Try putting in a new one,or just a different one and see if it doesn't correct the problem. Hope this helps.

Hi Roy,

I have a BJC-6000 and the owners manual shows that three beeps indicates a paper jam (4 means out of ink and 5 means cartridge installed incorrectly). Did you cycle the power on the printer and re-boot the PC?

Thanks for the feedback.
After listening real close it sounds like
four "beeps" which would indicate out of ink.
However in the past when I ran out of ink the paper would just keep coming thru blank.
I will keep trying.
