Upgrading question about CDRW drive

Post by Mark Krutke »

My PC is a 466mhz, 192 RAM, and I wanted to know if I could hook up a external or internal 48x writer without overloading the system (it would replace the one I have now). I don't really have any other applications running when I make CD's. Could someone tell me if my PC would handle this, or what the highest speed I could go would be? A new computer ? Image
Thanks much.
[This message was edited by Mark Krutke on 10 September 2002 at 05:04 PM.]

Mark,

Hey buddy, I think you should be just fine with that new burner you are looking at. Just curious...what kind is it?

Hi Mark,

There were several burners that I was looking at, particularly the Cendyne model, which was a 48x12x48x at Staples for about $90. I did notice that my computer does not have the new type 2.0 USB hookups for the new external burners that burn at the higher speeds, so I won't be getting one of those.

Have you ever heard of that brand?

Mark,

I recommend the Lite-On 48x CD-RW. It is only $89 and is very stable.
