For Mac Users - printing directories

Post by Andy Volk »

I'm a recent convert to Mac and I haven't yet figured out how you highlight all the files in a folder and print the list as text only. My computer keeps wanting to copy the files. Can anyone help?

If I understand your question correctly. It's fairly easy.

Open the folder you would like to print the content list of, and go to the pull down window "View" and select "As List". Next, under the "File" pull down window select "Print Window".
.

Or, if you would like to copy the names of the file, open The folder you would like to print the content list of. Change the "View" to "As List". Next, hold down the "apple key" and hit the "A" key. That will "Select All". You can also find that under the "Edit" pull down window. Next, hold down the "apple key" and hit the "C" key. That will copy all that is selected. Then you can paste it ( Hold down the apple key and hit the P key) into a WP of your choice and just print it.

Hope this helps.

Welcome to the Mac world.

Steve

ps: the apple key is to the left of the space bar

Thanks, Steve. I knew it had to be simple but my "Windows" mind hadn't figured it out. Don't see the "print window" option in OSX but the Apple c/p method did the trick.
