Audiograbber (CD Ripper) and Windows XP

Post by Jack Stoner »

Is anyone using Audiograbber with Windows XP(home)?? Audiograbber is a shareware program for "ripping" audio CD's.

I tried using Audiograbber after upgrading to XP and all it would do is display "CD not ready". All other CD programs such as Windows Media Player, Roxio Easy CD Creator 5, etc work so it is back to the Audiograbber program.

I contacted the programmer and got a couple of suggestions, one was to load "FreeASPI". None of his suggestions worked. The programmer is at a loss and doesn't have any more suggestions and either I have some unknown problem or the program just won't work with XP.

My new system has XP. But I haven't tried to install my copy of AudioGrabber on it yet.

(I'm probably woefully out of date on it, since I don't use it a lot - I think my version is 1.64?).

I certainly hope I'll be able to use it.

David, the latest version is 1.81. I thought I had got it to work but I tried it again this morning and back to the original problem.
It's a neat program from ripping, if I can't get a fix for it I'll have to find something else (other than MMJB that I've had problems with).
