.tv domains available for Steel Guitar!

Post by Abe Stoklasa »

Just wanted to say, if anybody wants to have a website like www.steelguitar.com or www.pedalsteel.com, well here's the next best thing! www.steelguitar.tv and www.pedalsteel.tv are available, plus a lot of other domains! If I had a website to put out there, I'd jump on these deals! It's worth checking out!!!

My Website!

Equipment - MSA D-10 Pedal steel, standel amp, George L 10-string bar, 2 finger picks and 1 thumb pick.

I'm creating a "Steel Guitar Calender" for 2002, so if you'd like to be in the calender, e-mail a picture of you and a short bio about your steel, yourself, and whatnot!

Abraham, is there a site you can visit to see if a domain is taken?
I tried a few I already know but they don't recognize the .tv domain.

Oops, never mind! I just clicked on your link and found it.
[This message was edited by Tony Palmer on 29 January 2001 at 01:32 PM.]

Two years a ago, I signed up for a domain name of PedalSteel Guitar and the computer guy told me I got it. Later saw other guys using it. I was lucky, got my $100. back. I was going to get on the web with a book on Pedal Steel guitar, a compilations of the 60 years I spent doing it all. But I dropped the idea, too much work, and no money in it.
Now I gladly share any Pedal Steel guitar information that I might have freely.....al

If you want to check if a .tv domain is available, go to the domain site you want!

i.e. - If you want a domain like www.steelguitarsrock.tv (Click on it to see) all you got to do is type it in your browser and if it is taken, it will show that it is, if not, It will say "Domain Check" and you will know it's available! I hope I help someone.

I use Register.com because they give you control of the DNS entry.

I'm moving this topic to the Computers forum.

I think it's a great new thing, so people can have more chances to get the domain they want!!

I don't think I'd want something that's already being used even tho the .xxx is different. It would be too confusing and most people are "programmed" for .com or .org or .net they are not into the new extensions yet.

Good business practices says you do not want to use something someone else is, even if it's legal.

register.com is good because their set-up will better protect you from getting your domain hijacked. However, they are a bit on the high side for price and they have tricky language in their agreement which allows them to keep your data on their files forever.

I found www.000domains.com today. What a bargain for domain registration.

Many people forget the .nu extension. It doesn't show up in most data searches. .tv is a RIPOFF! They created prepriced valuations for their domains. Unless you are going to have a TV show i would avoid this at all costs. You might check into .ws There will be other extensions in the future. Many domains are being abandoned with the dot-com meltdown. There is no rush to register domains anymore.
