Russ. BIAB uses whatever sound card or module you have for the sounds. In BIAB at the top under Opt there is a Midi selection to choose midi out or in sources. I think these are the choices available and programming a drummer must come from something other than BIAB, as in your soundcard. To be fair, while I have had BIAB for a while, I am by no means an expert in its capabilities.
Jim is right in a sense, it's just that BIAB has an array of musicians ready at the click of a mouse to play many styles with no pay and no demands and you only have to provide beer for one.

Steelruss, I used BIAB with a parallel port midi engine into a Kawai G-Mega tone bank, and the sound card midi/game output into a Yamaha RY-11 drum machine, for the drum & bass voices.
You need to use the Windows "Midi Mapper" applet to make it work. The drum midi channel needs to be "steered" to the Boss instead of to the sound card midi synth.
