BIAB help

Post by Richard Sinkler »

I'm not sure where to post this, so move it to where it is supposed to go, if necessary.

I recently purchased BIAB and have entered my first song. My question has to do with endings.

How do you get a chord to hold at the end of a song for a specified number of beats? This song ends on the 3rd beat of a measure and i want it to hold until the end of the following measure (total of 6 beats). I know about using the 3 dots after a chord name to hold the chord, but I need to hold it beyond the end of that measure. If I don't enter a chord into the last measure, it is silent. If I enter a chord name, then BIAB plays that chord again.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Richard, enter the last chord that you're playing along with the 3 dots, then, say, 2 bars later enter another chord different from the ending chord and put a dot after it. BIAB will hold the 3-dotted chord until it detects the one-dot chord, then it will stop without playing that one-dot chord. For some reason, that explanation was not included in the manual.

John, thanks for this most welcomed information. I use BIAB but have not
figured out how to hold that last chord.
I have printed you for my files.

Thanks John. It's amazing what they don't tell you.
