Dvd

Post by Dan Dowd »

Does anyone know if it is posible to make a copy of a DVD using a Computer and CD burner. I just purchased Easy CD Creator Deluxe Ver 4.0 and it says it has Video CD Creator included. If I have a DVD drive in my computer will this allow copying DVD's?

I think you have to have a CD burner that specifically will burn DVD's. The standard CD burners will not do that.

Yep, and chances are you cannot even find a DVD burner that will burn DVD-ROMs. Most of them use DVD-RAMs, which is a special DVD inside of a case to prevent scratching.

Dan -

The video CD Creator is simply allowing you to use standard computer video file types (.mpg, .avi, etc) on the CD rather than data or audio files.

There are DVD burners available for commercial use with the attendent price. The cost of copying a DVD to DVD-RAM currently exceeds the price of purchasing the DVD.

Things just keep getting hi-tech don't they. Thanks for the info guys. I thought I could do away with my 490 VHS Video tapes and copy them to DVD's. Well so much for that idea.
