Korg DTR 1000

What is the best method of connecting a Korg DTR 1000 in-line with a combo amp? I seem to get some noise no matter how I connect it. The input chain is as follows: pick-up,Steel driverIII, then "T" into and out of Korg input, LDR volume pedal in, VP out to Profex 2, out of Profex to Fender Bassman 135. Do any of you guys who use these have any suggestions? Thank you,

I do not leave a tuner in-line. I use a switch to switch the guitar to the tuner for tuning. I use a Korg DTR-1 with a power cord adaptor to isolate the ground. If I don't isolate the ground I get hum. I hope this does not start another discussion on the safety aspect of the 3-wire grounding plug. I have 3 Korg rackmount tuners and they all require isolating the ground pin on the power plug to eliminate ground loop hum. My amp furnishes the common ground through its 3-pin power cord.

The DTR 1000 and 2000 models come with isolating (insulating) mounting material so it can be isolated from a rack's mounting rails. This seems to eliminate any potential ground loop hum problem with these new models. Actually the newer models were supposed to fix the loading and hum problems that the older DTR1 and 2 had.

I have a friend with an older DTR1 and he did the same thing and got rid of his hum. He use "humfrees" which are nylon straps that isolate the mounting from the rack rails. Humfrees are sold by Musicians Friend and many other music stores.

I'm using a DTR-1000 in my new rack..I got distortion "coloring" my tone anyway(not mounted in rack) I used it inline...I find using spare effects send into rear input works(no return from tuner) This way it's always on!JS

I have mine mounted in my rack going to the tuner out plug in my Revelation Pre. When I was using a Profex II I just set up a patch with the EFX bypass set and plugged it into the effects loop on the profex. Then when I want to tune with mute I just call up the tuner patch that I have setup on the profex - dead quiet.
