What if you could have a amplifier in your hands that was a modular system consisting of a Unit and a Speaker cabinet and the weight of all it was around 25 to 30 pounds, depending on your choice of a 12" speaker cabinet and a 15" speaker cabinet.
Would you consider buying a wishful unit like this if it was available?

No, modular stuff doesn't turn me on. Besides, if it all weighed 25-30 lbs., there'd be no reason not to have it in a (one-unit) combo package. Whatever it was, it would have to have a graphic EQ, with a minimum of 6 or 7 bands!
If amp manufacturers simply get away from the heavy Tolex-covered wood cabinets, and get on the stick with N/D speakers, we'll see some lightweight and good performing amps!

Fender already has this combination in the Jazzmaster Ultralight. The head weighs 8 lbs and the 112 speaker cabinet weighs 16 lbs. I get a good steel and guitar sound both from mine. The speaker is a special design Jensen Neodymium, 2 ohm. The head has two channels and built-in effects, and is rated at 250 watts at 2 ohms. (I put the handle on the bottom for a prop. This was an Evans idea that works great)

Darvin-I would sure be interested in an amp that good and that LIGHT. 24 lbs total! Wow! Those lihtweight speakers help too. If it has the power of at least the Peavey 112 at 42 lbs. and the tone, it could be a winner, ...al
