Podxt and NV400

What setup do you guys like with the Podxt and NV 400? Put the Podxt and volume pedal in the effects loop? Or straight into the power amp input? And in each situation, where in the chain are you putting your volume pedal?

Steel-Volume Pedal- Pod- Power Amp Input
that's how it works for me
the sounds I'm using is diffrent from steel to steel. Steel itself, pickup etc will need diffrent POD-sounds
Hope that helps

That's how I run it too. Sometimes I'll run into the front input, but I'm sure to set my EQ controls to 0.

Thomas,

Its kind of your choice on whether to plug into the power amp in, or into the pre-amp input. Personally, I like plugging into the pre-amp input, mainly because most of the sounds I use are "effects only."

I plug my POD into the front input of the amp, whether it is my Nashville 400 or Fender Vibrosonic. I find it to be better to be able to slightly tweak bass or brightness live.

Jerry, does that mean your amp settings are as if there was no POD? How's the headroom using preamp-in?

Chris,

Yes, that exactly what I mean. When you bypass the amp modeling you can adjust the output of the POD XT. When I'm not using an amp model the output is set to around 8. When I do use an amp model the output is set to about 3 and and channel volume is set to 9 to 10. I don't have any headroom problems.
