Volume pot for L-710

Post by Steve Richter »

I want to change out the tone pot on my guitar for a volume. I have an L-710 that ohms out at 28.3K ohms and I was wondering what the proper size pot would be.

Thanks,

Steve

Try either a 250K or 500K ohm pot (Radio Shack or similar will work). Assuming you may be keeping the pot turned down from maximum, there could be some noticeable treble loss in your tone. If so, try a small capacitor (100, 220 or 300 mmf) across the input and output lugs of the pot.

Thanx,
Jim

I think I need to install the caps on my 6-string, too. Should you just experiment until you get something you can live with?

Alvin, TX?? ... Went to high school in Alvin from '70-'72 and lived in the area until I was ... well until about '92 or so. You been there long?
