Evans amp problem

Post by Gary Glisson »

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
hi anyone that owns evans FET500 lv! i'am having a problem with hum. and i'am thinking its the wireing in my house but i'am running my master gain on (1) and my volume on (5),
with no hum but my volume is down .
when i turn my master gain up past (1) i get a hum and this is happing in both amps the hum stays the same as far as loudness go's whether its 1 1/2 or 10 on the master gain. when i turn the master gain up and volume control up i have plenty of power and its very loud.but with the pedal off it hums, i've tried the adapter three to two prong no effect,i've bypassed the volume pedal, no effect i'am plug into jack # 2 , which is the normal jack beacause i use the hilton super sustane.even taking the hilton sustane out ,hum still there when master gain is above 1 1/2
anyone had this problem from your evans any thoughts on what might cause this. i have a brand new goodrick 10k pedal,
any help would be appreciated
thanks gary

One thing to try is plugging it in at your neighbors house, this will eliminate your house wiring.

Try a seach for Brad Sarno. I believe he stated by replacing certain caps that will clean up humm in the older FET.
