I have had a request to build a slight modification to the POD bracket I've been building for almost a year now. It has been well received and most of the players using one of my brackets are very pleased with its convenience and sturdiness.
I now am considering the following option for the bracket. This additional "piece" would allow the steel player to place the POD unit directly in front of his right hand. This will be moderately adjustable but for the most part the POD controls would literally be just a few inches from your fingers. I have done a prototype to give you an idea of what a finished product might look like. What do you think? Desireable? Yes/No? Maybe? At what cost adder?

I bought one of your brackets at the Dallas show, and it is really great - extremely sturdy - and I view it as a "must have" for anyone who owns a pod. I use it with my superslide.
For me, the placement on the current version is perfect. I like it off to the side and to my right. It is hard to improve on perfection.

I'm still considering the original version to get the POD off the floor. As far as the update goes though; I think less is more. I know some people will want that addition if they are tweaking it and changing things all the time & in the middle of tunes. For me right now it's just a couple of settings for six string to turn my steel amp into a Dumble. It could also be a question of ergonomics-vs-asthetics. I really like the feel of the way my Sho-Bud looks and if I start hanging more stuff on it-it looks like I might drive it somewhere. Like a motorized wheelchair. Sorry-just my gut reaction.
I think it's a good idea.
I no longer use my Pod, but I had that bracket, and I used to set it behind me, on my amp, but it did get tiring, turning around and changing settings all the time.
The only thing about having it out front like that at a gig, from the POV of an audience, it might be a distraction.
I still use my bracket, only now it rests underneath my MPC 1000 drum sampler, making it tilt upward, at just the right angle.

I have the standard bracket of yours that came with the pod xt I bought from Ernest Tuttle. I like rear right leg placement just fine.
It looks from the picture in your post like the added piece is just a metal riser. I'd vote you include that with all brackets, give users a choice, and charge a bit more if you need to cover the costs; leaving the price as is would be fab!

I mount the POD XT on the right rear leg and for me it is 100% perfect. I can adjust any time I want to with no reach at all. I think I would not choose to go on the front the way you describe. Maybe some others would?

The current bracket you make is ok for me but I was wondering if you had considered a leg clamp like the Peterson VS tuners use? Would that be more stable than the current attaching bracket being used?
I recently bought one of your brackets, and I couldn't be any happier with it! Very sturdy, and very well though out and constructed. I don't think I'd go for the front mount option. For me, the best place seems to be right rear leg...less obtrusive, and still within easy reach.
Any player with a Pod should have one of these!
