Amp modelers: bass ones have more 15's
I was idly looking at the stats on the new, $70 Korg AX3 & AX3B amp modeler/multi-effect units and I saw that the bass version had a lot more cabinets options with 15" speakers. The bass PODxt has a lot more 15" models than the guitar version too - has anybody A/B'd them to see how this effects their usefulness for steel?

I haven't tried any bass multiFX units, so I'm just guessing, but the 15" speaker model the previous owner installed on my PODXT seems like a typical shallow basket guitar speaker (like a JBL or sb Black Widow) in a guitar speaker cab. The bass speaker/bass cab models seem likely to be really heavy duty deep basket bass speakers modeled in large bass cabs. Most steel guitars don't play the low bass notes those speakers and cabs are designed to respond to. So they wont sound like the usual 15" speakers and cabs steelers are use to. That might be good or bad, depending on the ears. If you have to lose some useful guitar effects to get those bass speaker/cab models, I'm thinking it may not be worth it. On the other hand, I wonder if the models for the bass unit can be installed on the guitar unit?
