How do Webb serial numbers tell year model?

Post by Harold Parris »

I've read several articles about Webb amps and recently got one. I know the Evans series code but what is the meaning of Webb serial numbers?

Pretty much a rough guess-timate. The original
one that I bought in new '78 was #639. I've had
a couple others from the mid 80's that were
around #1300 or so. The real early ones didn't
have numbers on the knobs...just pointers.

Mine is a 78/79 (don't remember) but the serial numer is #749. It's been a great amp all these years!

They must have just went from 1 on up. Mine is 969, bought in late '78, early '79.
