All i can say is i'v never seen anything like it.People are noticing something different. Its fun to have the ultimate sound. If i'm playing out and anyone wants to play thru it you will be welcome. I wouldnt trade it for 10 brand new amps of any kind. Gary. I hope even the guys that has played a friends will respond also.

Hi Gary. Mine's in the mail so I can't tell you about it yet. I enjoyed what the Black Box did and got a lot of comps on my sound. I do know one thing--the better it sounds the more you like it and that seems to add to the creativity. I'm pretty hyped on playing out of a great tube pre and having the BB integrated into it.

Gary, I have one and you're right...the Revelation sound is certainly something wonderful to experience and I'd agree, it's fun. After I wipe the grin off of my face, I am planning to post a detailed description of what it is that is so special about The Revelation Tube Preamp. For now I think "scrumptious" might suffice.

It seems that most Rev Pre users are using either a Nashville 112 (or 2) or a MosValve power amp. Both sound great. The piece of gear I'm really excited about is the yet to be released TC Furlong SPLIT powered speaker cab. I plan to have an example of both a 12" and a 15" version with me in Dallas. These are very nicely made tolexed speaker cabinets with these very impressive, cutting edge power amp modules in them. The power modules are the Class D switching type, but don't be mislead by what you've heard from switching amps in the past. These are a whole new breed and represent how far that technology has come. The modules weigh about 3 or 4 pounds each and put out an EXTREMELY solid 400 watts into 4 ohms or 200 watts into 8 ohms. The tone is the best I've ever heard from this type of amp. These power cab's aren't in production yet, but I've been messing with the prototypes and have been nothing but impressed. A loaded 400 watt powered speaker cabinet coming in at around 30 pounds or so. Great on the ears and on the back.

I have been reading about the Revelation and am seriously thinking about getting one.
I would using it through an Evans E-200 amp, and would probably use something like a Lexicon 200 for effects.
Does anyone use a similar set-up? I sounds as though it sounds great thru anything.
Any replies would be appreciated.
I decided to just post a reply rather thatn burn up bandwidth.

I,m running the New Late Peavey DUAL Delta Fex processor. Mike Brown told me he had them to put 5 setting in there for pedal steel i guess similar to the Newman settings. I like # 22 on the presets real well it is Delay and Reverb. Corson music in Illinois shipped it to my door for $145.00. Other steelers like it real well. The price is great. And its a one rack space unit. Not the older deltaFex unit. IT is the New one out called a DUAL DELTA-FEX.

Michael. The Revelation is the best direct to board sound I've ever heard for steel. The "Dark" switch position helps to bring down the ultra-highs and make it sound more natural thru a full range, tweeter/horn based speaker system or headphones. The 4 tube stages int the Rev really help to warm up and smooth out the sound making the direct tone very nice. Of course, I'm biased, but I've had great reports from some serious steel players who confirm this as well. Personally I've never cared for the direct sound and the Revelation was the first time I actually enjoyed it. I had mild success with the PODxt in the past, but it still never quite cut it for my taste. The Revelation gives you a purely analog/tube signal path from pickup to output. I'd be curious to hear what other Rev users have to say about the DI sound of the Rev Pre.

Wouldn't it be safer to print all that nice sparkling high freq stuff, and then EQ it later if there is too much?
[This message was edited by Earnest Bovine on 20 February 2006 at 10:50 AM.]
direct to board ... Randy, You dont need to diet as bad as me and some of the other guys we know. I'm not dropping any names today. Randy, I'm anxious to hear what another one of the heavy weights has got to say about these Revelations. It would be nice if everyone would post their setting just to compare. I realize its different for all setups. I'm running most of my EQ half way up or more and i like it very well. I also am playing a pushpull Emmons and absolutely love it. Gary!!
