Considering we are booked at this club over the entire year..that pretty much means I had to resolve the excessive Noise and Hum which is generated from the bandstand lights, fans etc..whatever..
previous thread several weeks back...
I removed my beloved True Tones and replaced them with George L Eons. I am still keeping a TT for future use though...
Last night..the 04 Carter with Eons, thru my 78 Session 400 and my Nashville 400..clearly got a rise from the guys in the band..they told me it was the best my Steel has ever sounded..
the Session 400 is also a big part of that...
works for me..

Humbuckers get a bad rap from some. My Franklin came with Lawrence 705's and about 4 or 5 years ago I upgraded to the 710's. I get a lot of comments on my sound - whether it's me, the guitar or a combination. I played a 71 PP (Black
) Emmons PP with the stock pickups and after getting the Franklin and the sound it had there is nothing that would make we want to go back to the PP. I know many consider it the "holy grail" but I'm not in the "many".
You have to go with what you like or what works for you, not what someone else likes the best.

Jack, thats pretty interesting..I called a good friend who plays the same club where this excessive NOISE/ EMF situation occurs..he plays a Legrande II.
I asked him how he deals with it..he said
"I don't have to ,I have 710's on my Legrande II "!
But he confirmed that the room is the worst around and that his Tele' bandmate has a dog of a time on that stage..
My bandmate, Matt on Tele, we put my Fender Tele' Noisless PUPS into one of his guitars and it knocked down the EMF issue easily 75 %..at least to the point that he can still play a Tele on this gig...
Sometimes ya just gotta do what ya gotta do...
