Shobud wiring

I noticed this old post:

" bought an old Pro, unfortunately the previous owner had it wired to one 3 position switch that goes from front neck (with a huge hum), to both necks and the last position is back neck also with a huge hum."

I have an old Shobud permanent that's been wired up this way. The volume/tone knobs have been disconnected and the coil tap switches seem to be removed. 2 questions:

1) Does anyone have an idea why people did this mod?

2) Does anyone have a old sho-bud schematic so I can change up the wiring?
