Volume loss on my Mesa Boogie

Post by Eddie Thomas »

I experienced a volume loss on my Mesa Boogie Mark 3, I cleaned the tube sockets with Deoxit 5, replaced all the tubes (with new ones), and still no improvement. Anyone ever had this problem? Any info would greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This is a long shot...

Your cord from your guitar to the amp may have a bad solder joint, or may be disattached and only making limited contact.

Or perhaps in your jack on the guitar or on the amp.

Alternatively, I had a capacitor let go on the circuit board of an amp after much moving around. A loose piece of tramp metal may be sitting on your circuit board.

I have no idea what it is - but your best bet is to start at one end (jacks and cords) and work your way to the other (speaker connections).
