Any one have an opinion on these PU's. Thinking about trying one in a Legrande II.

The clap traps are a great sounding pickup.....You do need a switch to get all 3 positions however to get the full benefit of the pickup ....All 3 positions are very usefull .....Sincerely, Jim

I put a CrapTrap on my retired MSA's C6 neck; it didn't come with a switch, and I didn't know it was tap-able. How is that done? Can any CrapTrap be a multi-tap pickup? And that means you have a choice of several different-ohmed spots on the winding to choose from, correct? Thanks!

I have a pair on my Fessenden and I really like them. It came with George L's PF-1's which were pretty good, I then changed to Bill Lawrence 710's which were better, I would rate the Shields as excellent. Mine only have a single output wire also.

I have seen the Dan Shields CrapTrap pickups with 2 wires ( non-tapable )( was model CT-1 i think ) & I have also seen them with 3 wires (Multi-tap)( was model CT-2 ).It depends on how many wires your pick up has. Either way they are great pickups, the 2 rows of polepieces are fully adjustable up & down. There is a replica of these pickups being made at this time by a Mr. Pitman as i understand it..Ron
[This message was edited by Ron Whitworth on 21 October 2005 at 07:42 PM.]
