Are all Black Widow Speakers 4 ohm?

Amplifiers, effects, pickups, electronic components, wiring, etc.

Are all Black Widow Speakers 4 ohm?

Post by George Kimery »

I have a Session 500 and an Evans that both have black widow speakers in them. The one in the 500 has a spider web printed on it, whearas the Evans is just a plain finish, looks like cast aluminum. There is no writing on either speaker that says 4 ohms. Are both of these 4 ohm speakers and is one speaker considered any more desirable than the other?
Thanks.

Check the small tag by the speaker terminals (I use a mirror and flashlight to see it).

There are many models and also 8 ohms models as well. I do not believe there is a 1501SB in 8 ohms, however.
[This message was edited by Ken Fox on 22 September 2005 at 06:54 AM.]

Ken is correct. We manufactured BW's in both 4 and 8 ohms.
