Question for Mike Brown

Mike is it alright to use the effects loop on a Delta Blues amp as a volume pedal loop? I like the tonal difference that it makes on the Nash. 1000, and wonder if it will make a difference on the Delta. I'm thinking of getting a Delta Blues for my Sierra lap steel.

Yes, a post eq loop will work. If you use the pre eq loop on the Nashville, there should be no tonal change when moving a pot volume pedal back and forth. However, an additional reason for the use of the pre eq patch on the Nashville is so that the input of the amp will "see" a constant impedance from the pickup.

Thanks a bunch Mike. I appreciate it. The preamp of the Delta would still be "seeing" the constant signal, if I run straight from the pickup to the input of the amp. I just did not know if using the post EQ loop on the Delta would receive too much resistance from my volume pot. It is amazing how many folks do not take advantage of the pre loop for volume pedal. They say "it takes an extra cable!" Yet they don't mind spending extra money for bar and picks holder, ect. Amazing......
