NV112 outside venue tonight
I was called today to do a side job with a local band outside on a downtown gazeebo tonight. It is bare bones, no mic on amps , crank it up deal, I know my NV400 could cut it with ease, but Im going to use my NV112 just to see what this little amp can do. I love this little amp, but have never used it in a live situation like this before.
I keep hearing a lot of ,,,it will & it wont,, so this should be a real test,,put the pedal to the metal.
Its only a 1 1/2 hr straight gig so no chance to switch amps here.
I will let ya know how it turns out.

Well the little 112 held its own pretty good tonight.
The band was pretty loud, as expected in order to cover the crowd of a couple hundred.
The little amp cut through when needed without breaking up at some pretty high settings. I had the post master volume all the way up & the pre at 6 to 7 all night.
The bottom end was there at a setting of +5 but did get a little muffled at times, actually had to cut it back some towards the end .
The only thing the 112 lacked was the big boo-wah sound when I punched it hard, but I expected that, after all ,this was just to see what the amp could do in this situation.
All & all, the little amp did a good job, great tone & punch for the 80 watts.
Next time in this situation, I will use my NV400 for the big boo-wah sound, but the little 112 held its own

Sometimes on the bandstand it is deceiving..
Last night I used my Hot Rod Deville ( 2x12-60 watt tubes) for both Steel and Tele. It appeared to me that it was doing quite fine thank you very much..
My wife informed me this morning that across the room, although she could hear me, it was not quite there..very thin..very bright...
tonight it's the 400....

If you really like the N112 but you want more "oomph", then get a second one and slave one to the other (connect pre-amp-out on the control amp to power-amp-in on the slave amp). This way you have enough power for a larger venue, and for a smaller club or a rehearsal, you take a single one. On the occasion where you take two, you lose the weight advantage because now you have to carry two amps, but if that is the Peavey sound you like best, it's a good compromise IMO. That's what I do. I know I could use my N1000 (or N400), but I just like the N112 more.
