NV112 or NV 400
I was one of the first guys to get a 112 and it sounded bad. There was no way to EQ my way out, but now im hearing all these great things said, and of course i like the weight.
Im just wonder if I got a bad one, so if you PV guys had to choose power not being the issue which one would you take for sound/tone?

Many have problems setting an amp with the Parametric EQ. They want to set it like a common tone control or even an active tone control and if it's set that way it will not sound quite as good.
The "Paramid" control in the Peavey amps should be set at approx 800Hz and the MID on the cut (minus) side. I set my NV112 at 800 Hz and approx -2.5. I set my NV1000 the same on the MID and when I had a Session 500 and later a Nashville 400 they too were set to 800 Hz and approx minus 2.5 to 3 on the MID. If you set the MID control on the plus side it will tend to get bassy.
My other settings on the NV112 are Low +12 and the High and Presence on approx +3 (depends on how new the strings are).
Another setting I see, is guys will put the MID on the plus side and then try to get the mids and bright by setting the High and Presence on a very high plus number - just doesn't sound good to me.

Randy, having owned a Session 500, a reissued Session 400 LTD, a Nashville 400 with the factory tone mod, a Nashville 1000 (still have it) and now a Nashville 112, and a rack stereo system, the only thing I've used on jobs since I got the 112 is the Nashville 112 because of the sound.
I don't know what "sound" you are looking for, but if you can't get it with a 112 you'll never find it.
