Evans hybrid

Post by Jerry Malvern »

Anybody using one of the newer Evans with the tube pre-amp? I understand they have been out now for about a year. Kind of pricey, but sounded good, and lite weight too. Any opinions?

Does anyone know how much more it costs to have the tube option? I love the hybrid idea.

Thanks Wolfgang, let me know what you think. I have heard one, thought it sounded great, would like someone else's opinion.

The Evans hybrid came in today.
First I must say it is a RE200 Hybrid with 10"
Speaker. I play the normal RE200 bevore. I had played also the SE 200 and the Se150.
That little hybrid amp tops it all. My English is to bad to describ how good it sounds.
The tone is absolutly warm and sweet and clean.
A lot of power also on that little amp. For the 15" speaker purists I must say they can mess with the bigger amps with 15" speakers.
For me it is the best amp I ever played, and I played a lot different amps in the years . From the Peavey Nashville 400, Session 400 old and new, Fender 65 Twin, Session 500, profex, etc. For me personally its the best amp you can buy. It is a little pricy but it is worth every penny. ( I`m not only a Dealer for Evans here in Germany since 1998 i play that amps also personally every weekend on gigs )
