The DD-5 has the "tap tempo" function, the 3 doesn't. I have a DD-5 that I used for several years, until I got a POD XT, but only used one setting.

I had went to a music store for a DD-3 but they were out and they offered to sell me the DD-5 for the DD-3 price. If it wasn't for that, I would have had a DD-3.

I've seen posts about having different delay setings for different songs or song speeds. But, I've watched "name" Steelers at shows, using a Boss or Ibanez delay "stomp box" and none of them ever changed the delay setting, they used the same setting for their entire set.

The delay on the DD-3 is 12 bit and the DD-5
is 16 bit, so it's a bit clearer.

Besides the tap in tempo feature, the DD-5 has two outputs for a stereo, or panning, effect. It also has 11 different modes as opposed to three modes on the DD-3. Image

Hey Jack,
Hoss called me last night. He heard i was looking for a DD-3, so i'm getting that one from him. I've seen the DD-5 in music stores and was just wondering what unit would be the best to go with.
