Rack Tuner

Post by Gary Dunn »

I would like a single space unit the displays in cents. Sort a like a tubefex; what is available?

Maybe I need to look into one of those VS-IIs.
[This message was edited by Gary Dunn on 02 June 2005 at 01:59 PM.]

The Korg rack tuners have large LED displays that are easy to read. The latest models are DTR-1000 and DTR-2000. The older DTR-1 and DTR-2 are similar. There are several good tuners on the market but I think these have the largest display.

I had a DTR2000 but never used my rack as much as I had planned on. I sold it when I bought a Peterson VS-II. But, the DTR-2000 is very accurate and I got as good a "tune up" as I do with the VS-II.

When I did have it, I would use the DTR-2000 to "fine" tune my steel after putting on new strings.

The Korgs are hard to beat; the DTR 2 is cents only - the DTR1 is both Hz and cents. (I use Hz.) The DTR 2000 is the upgrade of the DTR 1 - both Hz and cents, and the DTR 1000 is the upgrade for the DTR2. Confusing, but that's how it is.
