Goodrich LDR - Din plug
My Goodrich LDR volume pedal has a din-type plug in the fourth (rear-most) position (it must be an earlier version) instead of the current 1/4" jack plug - Same as the one pictured over on amps/access for sale. Does anyone know what this is supposed to be for, the documentation did not mention it, nor was there a cable/plug with the pedal when I got it (Brand new) ????

This must be something that John Fabian told me about quite some time ago---and integrated signal/power supply cable running to/from the amp. Obviously this would need an appropriate connection on the other end and I simply don't recall what the deal was with that---is Peavey working with Goodrich on this? Does the N112 have the reciprical connection? I don't know.

There's no power connection on the NV112.
I can't see where having a power jack on an amp would be useful. Many have the amp 10 or more feet from the guitar and a long cable would be needed. There are many different devices that use a "wall wart" power supply and with various voltages, some require an AC voltage, some require a DC voltage and some require a regulated DC voltage and some require two or more separate voltages. Polarity of the voltage and Power ratings are other issues.
Someone such as Peavey can't really make an amp with a power supply for a certain brand or a certain unit (other than their own products). It alienates their customers that use something else and shoots themselves in the foot as the alienated customers will buy a competitors product.

The original design was for this midi (din) plug to be used with a "Wart Remover" produced by Goodrich. This small box would fit in the back of your amp and the power supply would hook to this box. Then a midi cable was used to connect the LDR to this Wart Remover. The intent was to keep from running a power cord out to your pedal.
The midi cable supplied power to your pedal AND the line signal from your pedal to your amp.
I have this setup and I love it.
Regrettfully their was not much advertising and/or acceptance of this extra $100 box, so it was discontinued. Now that "din" plug is of no value to you.

Thanks guys, I had suspected that it was some type of alternative power supply. Interestingly the pedal came with a standard wallwart power supply that plugs into the socket in the back of the pedal -- but there there was no midi cable or documentation to tell you about it so it remained a mystery to me. I bought the pedal when they first came out thinking it would have 2 1/4" output jacks......having said that, I love the pedal and mostly play with my rack system, so I don't need the 2nd output jack. Except when I use my Nashville 1000 and portable Korg tuner, that extra jack would be useful -- I might have to get one of the new LDR2's so that I can have a spare !!
Thanks once again for your help.

I have an original generation LDR that has the second amp 1/4" jack on it. Two inputs (one subject to the trim control, one listed as "full frequency"), and two amp outs. I used it for the tuner for a bit, but it doesn't let you tune without having the amp volume up, so I stopped doing that... it did work though, as long as you didn't mind having to hear the amp ring out at the same time.
