Thing to know about Evans Amps.

Post by Curt Shoemaker »

Not only are they the finest Amps. on the market today, but their PRODUCT SUPPORT is the greatest.
I recently had a minor problem after hours of uses,so I sent my 200 back for repair. Scott & Ed jumped on it and I had it back within 5 days.
Folks take a look at the Evans,it's a fine Amp., along with good people that build them.

I can go along with you on that Curt. The Buffington family are good people, and they know how to treat you right. I'm close enough to Ed's shop to take my Evans Amp over and have him Tweek it occasionally, and be back home in time for Supper. I have a SE 150, that I like real well. I only use it at home though because it's so light, I'm afraid it wouldn't hold up to very much gigging.I do have a question which is, why are the electonics in the bottom of the amp. Up here in central NY, we have snow up to our knees sometimes (or there abouts) and I don't want to get the amp wet. Have you guys used your amps a lot on different jobs? Thanks for listening. Larry

Hi Larry, Yes my Evans 200 has been all over the midwest every weekend for the past 3 years. It's been hauled many miles with no trouble. I do however have a very good amp, cover for it that keeps out the weather & dust. I'm sure your 150 is just as tough!
Have a good one! Curt

Larry, Jerry and Austin have used their Evans Amps all over the USA. They have NO problem with them. We have been out in all kinds of weather. We do try to put our covers on when traveling. I love the Evans because they are so LIGHT!!!!! Don't be afraid to use them. Scott and the crew at Evans are GREAT people. We are dealers for them. Enjoy!!!!!! Donna

I have an Evans AE100 that is a surprising little amp. It has 100 watts, an 8" speaker, and digital reverb. I used it a few weeks ago in a hall that will seat about 300 people and I had volume to spare. We played a mix of Country, Blues, and Rock and Roll styles, and even on C6th it sounded good.

I had an AE200 with two 8" speakers but the reverb was terrible, so I sold it. Evans used a tiny little open spring unit that was about 5" long. I can't imagine why they used such a chincy little reverb in a $1000 amp. This problem was taken care of with digital reverb on their later amps. They sound great.

I just bought a pair of older FET500LV's from Paul Polish, but they are still in Oklahoma. I'll get them down here in a month or so and I'm anxious to see how they sound.

I've been giggin with my Evans FET500 for 10 years with zero failures, so I have no experience with their service. I'm very pleased.
