Boss Tone Repairs
Hi Everyone; I have Two BossTones that were made by Sho-Bud, that need repair. I need the volume and attack pots, does anybody know where you can purchase these pots. I once read that John Lemay was doing repairs but I his website does not seem to be active anymore, would appreciate any help, on repairs or parts replacement. Thanks Bob

Bob,
Mouser.com has pots that size, but they are not exact replacements and have to be fiddled with to get them to work. It's kind of a labor-intensive repair. You have to get out your tin snips to trim the metal that mounts the pot, and after you get the pot in place (because it doesn't have the same type of attachment scheme) you have to superglue it to the circuit board. After that's all done, though, they work fine.
The pot I have used to repair these bosstones is Mouser part no. 311-1601-100K. The replacement plastic wheels that rotate the pot are Mouser part no. 450-0009 0-9 Left (they have numbers on them; the originals don't)
(Order an extra pot and a couple extra wheels, just in case you wreck one in the process of making it work.)
[This message was edited by Alan Kirk on 09 May 2005 at 11:29 AM.]
