It's amazing ain't it Dan? I've had mine 3 months I guess and I still can't get over it.
I used mine on several sessions and club dates two steel shows and a GAC network taping with Doug Stone and it's handled every situation like a champ. I haven't seen the t.v. show which aired this past Monday but is to be aired 8 more times so I'm sure I will. Several folks have emailed and some of the guys here in town saw it and said it sounded like a million bucks. I'm very thankfull for the kind words but I still want to hear it for myself. I was pleased though when we taped the show.
I don't think you can buy a better amp. Pound for pound and $ for $ it beats anything I've ever seen.

Kinda scary ain't it? After all those years of wanting a "blow your hat in the creek" amp, I finally got a NV400. I used it 15+ years. Now I have it tucked away and only use the NV112. It works for me and my back loves me for it........JD

Amen to all the above! I got my first 112 last October for my practice room--loved it so much, started using it for gigs. Then I had to get a second one a couple of months ago for my practice room. Image Amazing great sound! For my money, it's the best sounding steel amp Peavey ever made. ...lefty
[This message was edited by Lefty Schrage on 08 May 2005 at 07:33 AM.]

The sad part is that we could have been playing these amps a long time ago if the marketing Dept. at Peavey had not represented the N-112 as a practice amp instead of a professional amp.(Which is what was really needed in the first place.) Due to the expense of this hobby, most beginners can only afford a bedroom practice amp in the $100.00 range, not the $650.00 list price range. This isn't a slam on Peavey Marketing Dept. I think they simply approached the 112's developement the same way they approach their bread and butter customer's needs, which are young rock musicians. Regardless, the important thing is that we now have an outstanding dedicated steel guitar amplifier that fits the needs of the weekend musician and the top Professional. Thanks Peavey!

I'm thankful that I can finally stop looking for the right steel amp! I love my little NV 112 also!

Everyone seems to agree that this is a great steel amp, and also very good for jazz guitar, too. But for those of us who play guitar as well (and if the amp really is too clean), could anyone suggest a pedal or gadget to 'dirty up' this amp a little? Thanks.

A Tube Screamer should take care of any overdrive.

I worked a job yesteday and the lead guitar player had a Tele and a Nashville 400 and got great sound out of it. Since the preamp section in the 112 is basically the same as the NV400 (with factory mod) and the NV1000, the 112 should do just as well for lead guitar.

I haven't tried my Tele through my NV112 yet. I'll have to do that some day.
