George L E-66 P.U. doesn't fit my Emmons

Post by Dan Cooper »

Hi Folks,

I thought this pickup was a simple "pop-in" replacement. But the screw ears at either end do not allow the pickup to fit into the pickup cavity on my S-10 Emmons. Am I missing something?

Thanks for any help,
Dan

Dan - Aftermarket pickups come in two styles, the "narrow" mount, which has mounting tabs on either end, is usually suitable for Sho-Bud, Mullen, and others. The "wide" mount has mounting tabs on the sides and is suitable for Emmons, Zumsteel, and others.

Dan, I think the George L pickups come from the manufacturer with tabs on the sides and the ends. If you need the wide mount configuration, just cut off the tabs on the ends. If you were using it for the narrow mount, cut off the tabs on the sides.

Thanks, guys
I did say when I ordered it that it was for an old Emmons. So, I thought the store either made a mistake or it comes standard with both mounting options.
