What sort of noise is it, Bill?
Is it the same at different locations or does it change with the venue? Does it change with different amps? Different cords?
Is it noise or distortion that happens when playing or a loud noise when not playing?
Is it a 120Hz hum/buzz that might be related to electrical power or RF issues, such as cheap lighting dimmers, electrical motors or dirty power?
Do you have any wall-warts anywhere in your rig or a electronics rack placed very close to the pickup end of the guitar?
Is it a loud low-frequency hum from the guitar which could mean an open pickup winding?
How close to your strings is your pickup?
All of these questions need answers before a solution can be suggested, kick in what you can and we'll be all over it for sure.
