Evans FET 500 LV problems
My amp just blew a fuse and I noticed that the heat heat sink is REALLY hot. Blistered my finger even! This happened after playing at a low volume for like maybe 15 minutes tops. Any ideas what could cause this?
Thx

As the heatsink is getting very hot, And as the fuse dosen't blow immedietnly,I would look for a bad/shorted output transistor.

David,
I recently bought an FET500LV. It blew a pair of the
output transistors. I replaced all 4 and a few weeks later it blew 2 of those. I put the remaining transistors in and 2 of those blew a few weeks later. I sent it back to Evans and they went through it, replaced one of the circuit boards, updatrd the output transistors and it's been singin' ever since. I'd recommend giving them a call.
